P. J. ‘Pat’ Hannaberry O.B.E. was Commissioner of the former Commonwealth Railways from 1948 to 1960. He held the position during the transformation of the operations of the Trans Australia Railway through dieselisation.
Pat Hannaberry’s collection of books, numbering approximately 65, is being offered for sale by tender by his nephew’s family.
The collection is wide-ranging, including technical reference books (some 80 to 90 years old), books on railways in countries other than Australia and books on topics other than railways. It includes books inscribed to Pat Hannaberry by their authors.
