The RTSA Contact Mechanics Award is offered annually to the author of an outstanding final year undergraduate project, undertaken in Australia or New Zealand, on a topic that is related to the contact conditions between wheel and rail and the consequences of these conditions in terms of material behaviour and damage modes,
If an award is made it comprises a cash prize of $2,000 and a commemorative plaque together with one-year fee membership of the RTSA.
